We successfully launched the brand new Burn It Down Media website. It’s jam-packed with news, articles, and the entire BIDM portfolio. You can add comments to each portfolio piece. It’s dripping with sexyness. Head on over and give Jayk a comment on his artwork. www.burnitdownmedia.com

I started messing around with Actionscript 3, and I wanted to duplicate an effect I saw on another website. The premise - make a video split into pieces and fall off the stage.

Our newest site has just launched. Shine! is the Middle School Ministry of The Chapel at Crosspoint, a local church in the Buffalo area. The website for Shine! includes a video player streaming from Youtube, a podcast player, a prayer board, and tons of other media pages. Our backend tool has also got a major upgrade, allowing the user to drag and drop the order position of database records.

You might have wondered how we were able to to stream Youtube videos from Youtube.com into the Orange Avenue website, allowing us to design our own Flash video player - as seen here: http://orangeavenuemusic.com/home/oatv/
We didnt want to be restricted to the Youtube video player, so we used PHP to grab the actual FLV that Youtube uses to stream the video, and then had our Flash site stream that same FLV.

Our very first website back in 2001 was for the now extinct band Embodyment. Former members of Embodyment are now in a new band called The Famine. According to The PRP, The Famine have inked a deal with Solid State and are currently finishing up writing their debut effort for the label. The band plan to enter the studio later this summer to begin recording it with a late 2007/early 2008 release being planned. Those unfamiliar with the band can check them out here.

You can see the work of Brook Pifer in our designs. She has shot band photography for Rory, Devin Lima and Bryan Malpass. And her new website has garnered acclaim from the FWA website and many other design sites. Her site was awarded site of the day on FWA, so a congratulations to her and her outstanding work. The website is great, but its really her pictures that make the site spectacular.
Look for Devin Lima and Bryan Malpass websites in the near future.

In anticipation of The Simpsons movie, a brand new movie website was created. One of the cool features is that you can create a Simpsons character. You can customize the body and face features. Once you save the character, he or she is placed in the Springfield community and can be seen around town.
The website is still under construction, the only place you can visit is Moe’s Bar. And a cool looking game involving Homer and a crane is still in development as well. Looks like it will be worth the wait.

Yes, after a few months of being busy, the new blog is finally live. This site will be used to post Floodlab news, as well as design and coding tips and tutorials. We will showcase our newest work here, and give an idea of what we are working on.
The blog will also be a place where we can show other designer’s work that we like. We will link to websites and album artwork that impress us, and that we draw inspiration from.
Lastly, we will constantly show our love for music, showcasing new bands and music that we are addicted to.
Please come back soon to see updates.. hopefully on a daily basis.
Peace,
Mark, Jayk and Jason
